Tuesday Morning report from Maple Country

Good morning from Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. Yesterday we gained a lot of altitude and will cross the Eastern Continental Divide today. Meyersdale is a sleepy town that sits in the shadows of wind turbines, an interesting contrast of modern technology to the traditional old village with nearby Amish.

The most spectacular view yesterday was crossing the valley approaching town on the Salisbury Viaduct, 1,900 feet crossing over 100 feet above the river, roads, trains and farms below. Today, we cycle on through Frostburg to Cumberland. it will be nice to be heading downward for once!

Yoder’s Motel, our overnight accommodations, is in the photo above. It’s a nice B&B that is pre 70s decor inside. We have a great older innkeeper and very clean room. I would recommend this place to everyone. Enjoy today’s video.
